Lot 362: A Hanging Cobalt Blue Cut-to-Clear Art Glass Bowl Centrepiece with Beaded Drops
This decorative centrepiece consists of a deep cobalt blue glass bowl cased over clear glass, featuring cut-to-clear geometric and starburst patterns. The bowl is housed within a dark, patinated metal wire frame. The frame rises from a base cage to four vertical supports which join at a wire-wrapped scrolled loop handle at the top. Four additional scrolled wire hooks extend from the upper rim of the frame, each supporting a graduated drop of alternating faceted cobalt blue and clear glass beads, ending in a cobalt blue teardrop pendant. A small white rectangular adhesive inventory label is attached to one of the vertical wires, printed with the characters 19 19. No maker names, signatures, or etched marks are visible on the glass or the metal frame.
Condition report:
The metal wire frame exhibits surface oxidation and a dark patina across all surfaces (photo 1). The cut glass bowl shows no visible chips or cracks to the body or rim from the angle provided (photo 1). The beaded decorative drops appear complete and intact (photo 1).
