Lot 354: Mid-century modern turned wood and metal tripod floor lamp
A mid-century modern floor lamp featuring a turned wooden stem and a metal tripod base. The central stem is constructed from turned wood with a mid-brown finish, terminating in a wooden boss at the bottom. Three slender metal legs are set into this boss in a tripod configuration. The lamp is equipped with a brass-toned metal bulb holder designed for a bayonet cap (B22) bulb. A black electrical cable is present, currently wound around the exterior of the wooden stem. A small white square adhesive label is affixed to the upper stem, printed with the digit 7. Positioned below it is an orange rectangular adhesive label featuring handwritten black characters that read 354. No maker’s marks or signatures are visible on the object.
Condition report:
The item is in used vintage condition. There is visible surface wear, including scuffs and scratches to the finish of the wooden stem (photo 1). The metal legs exhibit tarnishing and minor oxidation (photo 1). The lamp is missing its original shade. The electrical wiring is currently external to the main stem. As a vintage electrical item, it has not been tested for functionality and requires inspection and potential rewiring by a qualified professional before use.
