Lot 311: A Rectangular Gilt-Framed Full-Length Wall Mirror
A large rectangular full-length wall mirror housed in an ornate gilt-finished frame. The frame features a deep repeating pattern of continuous scrolling foliate and acanthus leaf motifs, complemented by gadrooned inner and outer borders. The frame is constructed from a moulded composition material over a wooden core, designed in a late 20th-century revival of traditional Baroque aesthetics. The mirror plate consists of a modern clear glass panel. Two adhesive labels are present on the face of the glass: a small white rectangular tag in the upper left corner with the numeral 7 handwritten in black ink, and a small orange rectangular tag in the lower left corner with the characters 311 handwritten in black ink. No manufacturer marks or signatures are visible on the item.
Condition report:
The mirror plate is in good overall condition with no visible foxing, silvering loss, or significant scratching (photo 1). The ornate frame shows minor surface dust and light wear to the gilt finish, primarily along the raised edges of the relief carving, which is consistent with age and decorative use (photo 1).
