An assortment of traditional metal hardware suitable for architectural restoration or rustic interior design. The lot consists of primarily wrought and cast iron components with a black protective finish. Included is a heavy-duty sliding gate or door bolt complete with its corresponding keeper. Two decorative iron rods feature open cage twists, often referred to as barley twists, terminating in spherical ball finials. The collection features a large circular iron mounting plate with an attached heavy-gauge wrought handle or door pull. Also present are two black iron J-shaped wall brackets or hooks. Supplemental items include a bag of metal curtain rings with a cream-coloured painted finish and a small bag of assorted mounting screws. No manufacturer marks, signatures, or stamps are visible on any of the hardware components.
Condition report:
The items are in a mixed, used condition. The black iron components exhibit areas of light surface oxidation and minor rust, most noticeable on the ball finials and along the edges of the flat plates (photo 1). The cream-painted curtain rings show scattered chips to the paint and general wear (photo 1). The mechanical sliding bolt is functional.
