Lot 300: A Trio of Mounted Photographic Reproduction Prints of Cumbria and Furness Historical Scenes
A trio of modern photographic reproduction prints, likely digital pigment or commercial lithographs on paper, depicting historical topographical scenes of the Furness and Lake District areas in North West England. The subjects comprise a monochrome view of a horse-drawn carriage in front of the Derby Arms, Great Urswick; a monochrome view of the railway platform at Furness Abbey Station, Barrow-in-Furness; and a colourised view of Lake Windermere from The Belsfield Hotel. Each print is set within a contemporary off-white window mat featuring a printed title in a black sans-serif font centered below the image. The prints are housed in individual clear protective plastic sleeves.
A white adhesive label is affixed to the top left corner of the first mat reading The Clocktower Gallery Ltd, OUL 38, £5.00, with a red cross marked through the price. The second mat bears a similar label reading The Clocktower Gallery Ltd, OB 105, £5.00, also with a red cross. The third mat has a smaller white label reading OW 7, £5, with a red cross. The outer cardboard container features a red adhesive sticker printed with the number 300 and two small white stickers each reading 12 12.
Condition report:
The photographic prints and their respective mats are in excellent condition with no visible signs of foxing, fading, silver mirroring, or creasing (photos 1, 2, 3). The protective plastic sleeves exhibit significant wrinkling and creasing, along with adhesive residue from previous labels (photos 1, 2, 3).
