An assortment of blue and white decorative ceramics. The lot includes a large bulbous glazed ceramic planter decorated with hand-painted underglaze blue floral designs on a white ground, featuring a wide flat rim with a repeating floral border. A smaller tapered glazed ceramic pot has a flared blue-painted rim and is decorated with hand-painted blue flowers and green leaves. Also included is a pair of oval pale blue stoneware dishes featuring white applied bas-relief decoration of classical figures and grapevine borders. A divided earthenware serving dish is decorated with a blue transfer-printed scene of a windmill and rural landscape. A glazed earthenware plate with a blue and white transfer-printed border is positioned at the base of the group. An orange adhesive label reading 285 is present on the rim of the large planter, and a similar orange label reading 285 is visible on the transferware plate. No printed or impressed maker marks are visible on the exterior or upper surfaces of these items.
Condition report:
The collection appears to be in good condition overall. There are no chips, cracks, or repairs visible in the photograph. A light layer of surface dust is present across the items. Several orange adhesive labels are attached to the pieces (photo 1).
