Lot 283: A Woven Wicker and Bamboo Decorative Model Sailing Ship
A decorative model sailing ship constructed from woven wicker, reed, and bamboo. The piece features an oval, basket-woven hull with a flat, solid base, supporting three bamboo masts. The masts are rigged with horizontal yards holding curved, woven reed sails, including a small lookout platform at the top of the central mast and a small woven triangular sail at the stern. An orange adhesive paper sticker on the rear mast is hand-marked 283. No other marks, stamps, or labels are visible.
Condition report:
The item shows minor surface dust and light fraying to some reed ends but remains structurally sound (photo 1). No breaks or losses to the wicker weaving are visible in the provided image.
