Lot 279: A modernist figurative sculpture of a nude female figure
A modernist figurative sculpture featuring a bronze-patinated finish. The piece depicts a stylised nude female figure in a tightly crouched, introspective pose with her arms wrapped around her legs. The form is characterised by smooth, elongated lines and a uniform dark golden-brown patina. The sculpture is designed as a self-supporting form intended to rest directly on a flat surface. An orange adhesive label is affixed to the upper back, printed with the digits 279. A small white rectangular adhesive label is attached to the right heel, marked with the handwritten digit 7. No signatures, foundry marks, or artist inscriptions are visible on the upper surfaces of the piece.
Condition report:
The sculpture is in good overall condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs (photo 1). An orange adhesive label is present on the upper back and a smaller white label is on the right heel (photo 1). There is light surface dust consistent with handling and display. The patinated surface appears stable and even throughout.
