Lot 269: Large Ornate Giltwood Wall Mirror in the Baroque Revival Style
A large rectangular wall mirror featuring an ornate frame with a gilded finish. The frame is constructed with wide decorative mouldings displaying a continuous relief pattern of scrolling foliate and floral motifs. The mirror plate is set within a stepped inner border. A small orange rectangular adhesive sticker and a small white rectangular adhesive sticker are present on the upper left area of the mirror glass. No maker marks, signatures, or manufacturer labels are visible on the front of the item.
Condition report:
The item is in good overall condition. The gilded finish on the frame shows minor surface wear and rubbing to the high points of the decorative relief (photo 1). The mirror plate is clear and appears free from foxing, scratches, or silvering degradation. Two adhesive labels are present on the glass surface (photo 1). No significant damage or losses to the frame are visible.
