A two-piece lighting lot consisting of a non-electrified oil lamp base and a separate glass shade. The lamp base is constructed with an ornate cast brass tri-lobed foot featuring scrolling foliate motifs, which supports a fluted central column. The oil reservoir or font is made of clear moulded glass with a repeating circular thumbprint pattern and terminates in a threaded brass collar. The separate shade is crafted from cased glass with a wavy fluted rim and features alternating vertical stripes of translucent pink and opaque white glass. An orange circular adhesive label with the handwritten number 25 is affixed to the brass base, and a matching orange label with the number 25 is present on the exterior of the pink shade. The glass shade also bears a small white rectangular adhesive label with the printed number 19. No manufacturer marks, signatures, or hallmarks are legible on the metalwork or glass components.
Condition report:
The lamp is incomplete, lacking the burner assembly, wick, and glass chimney. The brass base shows surface oxidation and tarnish consistent with age (photo 1). The clear glass font shows some internal dust and residue but appears free of cracks. The pink and white glass shade appears to be in good condition with no chips or cracks visible from the angle shown (photo 1). Adhesive labels are present on both the metal base and the glass shade.
