Lot 211: A Set of Four Fine Bone China Teacups and Eight Saucers with Rose Decoration and Gilded Rims
This set of fine bone china consists of four teacups and eight saucers. The pieces are decorated in the Old Country Roses pattern, featuring transfer-printed clusters of deep red, pink, and yellow roses among green foliage. The teacups are designed in the waisted Montrose shape with scrolled handles, and the entire set features scalloped rims with heavy stippled gilding. The decoration and form are unmistakably consistent with the production of Royal Albert. One teacup interior is marked with a handwritten number 90 in blue ink. The top saucer in the right-hand stack bears three adhesive labels: two small white rectangular stickers printed with 25 25 and one larger orange rectangular label printed with 211. No manufacturer marks are visible as the items are stacked upright.
Condition report:
No chips, cracks, or restorations are visible from the overview photograph (photo 1). The heavy stippled gilding to the rims appears bright and well-preserved. The set will require cleaning to remove the handwritten ink mark and adhesive labels.
