Lot 160: Two vintage women's coats including a Windsmoor example
This lot consists of two vintage women’s coats dating from the late 20th century. The first is a single-breasted coat crafted from a heavyweight textured bouclé fabric in royal blue, featuring a notched collar and straight-cut sleeves. It is secured by two round, domed gold-tone metal buttons and is fully lined with a matching royal blue satin-effect fabric. No manufacturer labels are visible on the garment; a yellow circular adhesive sticker is affixed to the wooden hanger. The second item is a black coat of smooth fabric construction, potentially a wool blend, featuring a large multi-tonal faux fur collar in shades of charcoal grey, silver, and brown. It has a black satin-effect lining. This garment bears a woven blue fabric neck label with white block lettering reading WINDSMOOR. It is presented on a black plastic hanger with white printed text reading internacionale. A yellow circular adhesive sticker marked 16 is attached to the faux fur collar.
Condition report:
The blue bouclé coat is in good vintage condition with some minor surface lint and stray white fibres visible on the textured outer fabric (photo 1). The black Windsmoor coat is in overall good condition, although the black fabric exhibits a significant amount of surface lint and light-coloured stray fibres that would require professional brushing (photo 2). No visible tears, stains, or structural damage are noted on either garment.
