Lot 155: Three Steiff red plush toys comprising a pair of Fruits series Cherry bears and a jointed monkey
A trio of plush toys manufactured by Steiff, Germany, comprising two miniature teddy bears and a seated monkey. Each item is constructed from a vibrant deep red plush material. The two bears are part of the Steiff Fruits series, featuring green felt double-leaf decorations on their heads and black stitched noses and mouths. Each bear is fitted with a white circular card chest tag featuring a graphic of a cherry and the printed text Fruits. The monkey is designed with tan felt for the face, ears, hands, and feet, and possesses articulated joints at the shoulders and hips. The monkey has large plastic googly-style eyes in white and black. All three items retain a yellow fabric ear tag secured by a brass-coloured button, which bears the red printed text Made in Germany by Steiff KNOPF IM OHR. The monkey features a small white rectangular chest label with the printed numerals 7 7 and a non-original orange adhesive sticker reading 155.
Condition report:
The collection appears to be in excellent, near-mint condition with no visible wear, thinning, or fading to the red plush (photo 1). The felt elements, including the bear leaves and the monkey extremities, are clean and free from damage. All manufacturer tags and labels are intact and legible. The orange sticker on the monkey is an aftermarket addition and not a defect of the manufacture. No original boxes are included in this lot.
