A trio of vintage fishing rods designed for coarse or sea angling. The collection includes one rod with a light brown blank, possibly constructed from early fibreglass or split cane, featuring distinctive green and black thread whippings at intervals and a black ribbed handle with a chrome-effect metal reel seat. Two further rods feature dark reddish-brown blanks, one of which has a traditional cork handle and a metal reel seat. All rods are fitted with metal line guides. An orange rectangular adhesive sticker is affixed to the blank of the uppermost rod, bearing the handwritten characters L25. No maker’s marks, brand names, or model numbers are legible on the blanks or components.
Condition report:
The rods are in used vintage condition. Visible surface dust and cobwebs across the blanks and guides indicate long-term storage (main image). The cork handle on the top rod shows significant darkening and wear from handling. Minor surface scuffs and signs of wear are present on the blanks and handle components. The integrity of the whippings and guides appears mostly intact, though they show signs of age-related wear.
