Lot 132: A Collection of Cut Lead Crystal Stemware and Tableware
A collection of cut lead crystal glassware featuring a traditional fan-and-diamond pattern. The group includes a decanter with a faceted stopper and horizontally ringed neck above a body decorated with a diamond-cut band and fan-shaped vertical cuts. Also included are small pouring jugs with integral handles and diamond-cut lower bodies. The patterned stemware comprises champagne flutes, wine goblets, and smaller wine glasses, all featuring faceted stems and multi-rayed star-cut bases. One glass in the centre of the group bears an etched cursive inscription that is not legible as a name or date. A further set of liqueur glasses features an etched wheat-ear motif on plain bowls and stems. The collection is completed by a small open bowl with a matching fan-and-diamond cut pattern. Several pieces bear small circular orange adhesive labels, including one reading 132 and another reading 134. One glass bears a small white rectangular adhesive label. No manufacturer names, printed marks, or acid-etched signatures are legible on the pieces.
Condition report:
The glassware appears to be in good overall condition with no visible large chips, cracks, or significant clouding in the photograph. The cutting is crisp and the crystal exhibits high clarity. Minor flea-bite nicks to the sharp edges of the cut facets, typical of cut crystal, are not clearly discernible in the overview photograph.
