A collection of decorative and commemorative items comprising two pieces of pressed glass, a stone trinket box, and two vintage containers. The glassware includes a rectangular tray with a scalloped rim and a repeating diamond-point pattern to the base, and a small heart-shaped dish featuring a radial sunburst design. The assortment features a small circular lidded stone box in mottled grey and pink, with an inlaid floral motif on the lid consisting of five mother-of-pearl petals, a central orange-coloured stone, and dark grey stems and leaves. Included is a red cardboard box with black printed text reading FOLDING OPERA GLASS 2.5 X 25 m/m, displaying a line illustration of the contents. Completing the group is a rectangular wooden box with a yellow finish and red and green tartan borders. This box features a central circular transfer depicting a portrait of King George V, surrounded by the Latin inscription GEORGIVS V REX ET IMP IND IMP. The wooden box bears an orange adhesive label reading 120 and a white adhesive label reading 4. Similar white labels with the number 4 are applied to the red cardboard box and the heart-shaped dish.
Condition report:
The items show various signs of age-related wear visible in the provided photograph. The red cardboard box for the opera glasses exhibits rubbing and wear to the corners and edges (photo 1). The wooden box shows scuffing to the yellow finish and minor losses to the central transfer, alongside the presence of modern adhesive labels (photo 1). The glass pieces and the stone box appear to be in good order with no visible chips or cracks (photo 1).
