Lot 116: A Group of Silver-Plated Tablewares including Rose Bowls and Gallery Tray
A collection of silver-plated metal tablewares comprising various serving and table accessories. The lot includes a large and a smaller rose bowl, each with a removable wire grid insert and a wide rim decorated with embossed scrolling foliage. Also present is a large circular gallery tray with a pierced rim and a centre chased with foliate patterns around a central medallion. The group further contains an oval dish with a pierced border and hammered martelé finish, a plain rectangular tray with rounded corners, and a circular domed lid with a knob handle. Several items bear white adhesive labels with the number 4 and orange adhesive labels with the number 116. No maker marks or hallmarks are legible.
Condition report:
The items show surface tarnish and light surface scratching throughout consistent with age and use (main photo). The large circular gallery tray displays significant wear to the silver plating in the centre, revealing the yellowish base metal (main photo). No major dents or structural damage are visible from the provided angle.
