Lot 87: A Group of Decorative Ceramics including a Blue and White Scalloped Bowl and a Hand-Painted Floral Dish
A group of decorative ceramic items comprising a variety of styles. The collection includes a circular shallow bowl featuring a white border hand-painted with floral sprigs in orange, blue, and yellow with green foliage, surrounding a solid vibrant orange enamel central panel. Also present is a porcelain bowl with a scalloped and lobed rim, decorated to the interior with underglaze blue floral and foliate motifs in a traditional oriental style, featuring a central floral medallion surrounded by flowering branches. The lot further includes a substantial shallow circular basin with a neutral cream glazed interior and a mottled blue-to-purple sponged effect to the exterior rim, and a white earthenware dish with a shaped rim highlighted with a dark blue band. Each piece bears a small white adhesive label numbered 19. Two items also carry orange adhesive price labels marked 7 and 8.
Condition report:
The bowl with the orange central panel shows significant surface wear and scratching to the enamel. Across the group, there are minor surface abrasions, kiln dust, and light crazing consistent with age and domestic use. No major chips, cracks, or professional repairs are visible from the primary inspection.
