Lot 678: A George III Style Mahogany Wingback Armchair
A George III style wingback armchair, upholstered in a cream-coloured floral damask fabric. The chair features a high back with scrolling wings and out-scrolled arms. It is raised on square tapered mahogany front legs, terminating in brass casters, with splayed rear legs.
Condition report:
The chair is in poor condition and requires full restoration. The upholstery is heavily soiled, stained, and shows significant wear and fraying, particularly to the arms and edges. The seat has lost its tension and is sagging, indicating a need for re-springing or new padding. There is a small adhesive label attached to the top right wing. Dust and debris are present throughout.
