Lot 154: A Seltmann Weiden Bavaria Apple Blossom Pattern Porcelain Dinner and Tea Service
A part porcelain dinner and tea service manufactured by Seltmann Weiden of Bavaria, Germany. The service is decorated in the Apple Blossom pattern, featuring transfer-printed clusters of pink flowers on grey-brown branches with green leaves, finished with gilded rims. The assortment includes a circular lidded tureen or vegetable server with a gold-tone globular finial and twin side handles, a milk jug or creamer, and a group of dinner plates, side plates, tea cups, and saucers. The base of the pieces features a green printed backstamp comprising a crown above Seltmann Weiden, Bavaria, and Made in Germany, accompanied by small brown painted factory marks.
Condition report:
The service is in good overall condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs. There is light surface wear and minor rubbing to the gilded rims consistent with age and domestic use. Several pieces have adhesive labels present on the surface.
