Lot 125: A Collection of Assorted Decorative Porcelain and Lustre-ware Tableware
An assortment of ceramic items including a lidded porcelain jar, a cabinet cup and saucer, a patterned cream jug, and two small bowls. The cylindrical lidded jar is decorated with floral sprays of pink blossoms and green foliage, featuring a matching lid with a pointed finial and gilded rim bands. The cabinet cup and saucer set displays intricate gilt scrollwork and pink floral garlands, with a fully gilded handle on the cup. A bulbous cream jug is decorated with a stylized pattern of scrolling leaves in blue, green, and purple, finished with a metallic lustre glaze to the handle and rim. This jug is presented on a stack of plates with scalloped, gilded edges and floral patterns. A plain white porcelain bowl with a flared rim is also included. No maker’s marks are visible in the upright positions shown. Orange labels marked 125 are affixed to the jar lid and saucer.
Condition report:
The plain white bowl displays a significant vertical crack extending from the rim down the side of the body. General surface wear to the gilding and minor surface scratches are present across the collection. Other pieces appear to be free from major chips or restoration upon visual inspection.
