Lot 99: A Collection of Silver-plated Tableware including a Teapot and Sauce Boats
A collection of silver-plated tableware comprising a teapot and several sauce boats. The teapot is of an oval, boat-shaped form in a Neoclassical revival style, featuring a fluted lower body and a hinged lid with a black finial. It is fitted with a high-arching black heat-resistant handle. The sauce boats are of varying sizes in a traditional Georgian style, designed with scalloped or gadrooned rims and open C-scroll handles with acanthus leaf thumbrests. Where visible, the pieces are raised on three pad feet. No legible hallmarks or maker marks are visible. The items bear white and orange inventory labels with the numbers 2 and 99.
Condition report:
The items show signs of age and regular use. All pieces exhibit surface tarnish. There is visible wear to the silver plating, particularly on the interiors of the sauce boats where the darker base metal is beginning to show through. General surface scratches and minor scuffs are present throughout. No major dents or structural damage are immediately apparent.
