Lot 83: A Silver-Plated Three-Light Candelabrum in the Georgian Style
This silver-plated three-light candelabrum is designed in the traditional Georgian style. It features a central fixed light flanked by two scrolling, reeded arms that support two further sockets. The piece is decorated with gadrooned borders on the circular base, the baluster stem, and the rims of each candle socket. The base is loaded for stability. No maker’s marks or hallmarks are visible on the exterior surfaces. An orange rectangular sticker marked 83 is attached to the central socket and a white rectangular sticker marked 10 10 is present on the base.
Condition report:
The candelabrum is in good, bright condition. There are minor surface scratches and light polishing wear commensurate with age and use. Small amounts of tarnish are visible in the recessed areas of the gadrooning. Adhesive residue from stickers is present on the top socket and the base.
