Lot 74: A Large Green Glass Maritime Fishing Float and a Clear Cut-Glass Jug
This lot comprises two items: a large spherical glass orb and a clear cut-glass jug. The orb is crafted from heavy, blown bottle-green glass and is consistent in form with a vintage maritime fishing float. The glass contains numerous internal air bubbles, or seeds, and exhibits a thick-walled construction. The clear glass jug features deep-cut geometric decoration, including a band of diamond cutting and fan motifs. The jug is finished with a flared rim and a thick, clear glass handle. No permanent maker marks or signatures are visible on either item.
Condition report:
The green glass orb shows multiple surface scuffs, light scratches, and some white surface residue consistent with age and previous industrial or outdoor use. The cut-glass jug appears to be in good condition with no visible chips or cracks to the cut edges, rim, or handle. Both items have temporary adhesive labels attached.
