This collection comprises a variety of mid-20th century commemorative, decorative, and souvenir items. Included are two large white metal medallions: one featuring the profile of King George VI with the circumscription GEORGIUS VI D: G: BRITT: OMN: REX F: D: IND: IMP:, and the other featuring Queen Elizabeth II inscribed ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA F. D. The lot also contains a large oval brass-finished belt buckle with a high-relief embossed scene of a gundog in a field, a white metal bullet-shaped container, and an ornate white metal filigree cross pendant accented with red glass beads. Further items include several small white metal medallions and badges, including one with a red enamel border surmounted by a crown, and a five-pointed star badge. Accompanying the items is a hinged souvenir box constructed of natural cork, the interior lid decorated with a printed coastal landscape scene and the base lined with royal blue velvet.
Condition report:
The collection is in good vintage condition overall. Metal components show varying degrees of surface oxidation, tarnishing, and light scuffing consistent with age and use. The cork box exhibits minor friability at the edges and small losses, while the internal velvet lining shows light fading and fraying. Mounting pins or clasps on the reverse of the badges are present but have not been individually tested for functionality.
