Lot 716: A Collection of UK Cupro-Nickel Fifty Pence Coins
A collection of United Kingdom heptagonal fifty pence coins struck in cupro-nickel with plain edges. The group includes coins featuring the third obverse portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Raphael Maklouf (dated 1997) and the fourth obverse portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley (dated 2004). Reverse designs include the seated figure of Britannia by Christopher Ironside and the Royal Shield of Arms by Matthew Dent. All coins bear the abbreviated Latin legend ELIZABETH II D G REG F D and the denomination FIFTY PENCE.
