Lot 701: A Collection of Vintage Costume Jewellery and Two Floral Painted Wooden Jewellery Chests
This lot comprises an extensive collection of vintage costume jewellery housed within two decorative wooden storage chests. The jewellery includes an assortment of multi-strand necklaces, bracelets, chains, and numerous pairs of clip-on and pierced earrings. Materials observed include gold and silver-toned base metals, faux pearls, glass and plastic beads, and enameled pieces. Specific items of note include a large gold-toned coin-style pendant and a gold-toned signet ring featuring the engraved initial D, presented in a maroon flocked ring box. The two wooden jewellery chests are finished in light blue with hand-painted style floral sprays in shades of pink, yellow, and blue. The larger chest features three drawers, while the smaller unit consists of a single drawer. An orange sticker marked 10/ is affixed to the top of the larger chest, and a white sticker marked 7 7 is located on the lower front edge.
Condition report:
The jewellery is in mixed, used condition consistent with age. There is significant tangling among the necklaces and bracelets. Some faux pearl finishes show signs of wear and peeling. The painted wooden chests display surface scuffs, minor scratches, and paint loss along the edges and corners.
