Lot 695: A Trio of Winstanley Glazed Ceramic Cat Figurines
A trio of Winstanley glazed ceramic cat figurines, comprising three different models in lifelike poses. Each figure is hand-painted with a mottled grey and black glaze to represent a tabby pattern, featuring white highlights to the face, chest, and paws. These models are characterised by their signature inset glass following eyes and realistic anatomical modelling. The set includes one cat in a seated pose, one in a stalking position, and one in an upright seated position. All pieces are finished with a high-gloss glaze. While labels on the associated shelving unit mention China, these ceramic figurines are distinct items and consistent with the output of the Winstanley studio in Norfolk.
Condition report:
The collection is in excellent overall condition, with no visible chips, cracks, or signs of restoration. The glaze surfaces are bright and free from crazing, and the inset glass eyes are intact and secure.
