A Hickory Chair Winterthur Country Estate Collection serpentine-front chest of drawers in the George III style. This bachelor’s chest features four graduated drawers, each faced with figured wood veneers, specifically tiger maple, and framed by cross-banded borders. The chest is fitted with eight circular brass-finish ring-pull handles featuring embossed floral rosette centres. The piece is constructed with a moulded top following the serpentine curve and stands on shaped bracket feet. No maker’s marks or labels are visible in the photograph.
Condition report:
The chest is in good overall condition showing signs of age and use. There are visible surface scratches and minor abrasions to the top and side panels. Small dark spots and minor stains are present on the drawer front veneers. The bracket feet show light scuffing and wear.
