This collection features a longcase clock. The longcase clock is constructed from stained wood, likely oak or mahogany, and features a swan-neck pediment with brass-capped fluted columns. The white painted dial is signed George Parker, ULVERSTONE and includes Roman numeral hour markers, a minute track, and hand-painted floral spandrels. The dial arch is decorated with a painted bird in a landscape. The clock houses a mechanical two-train movement, accessed via two winding holes on the dial. The trunk of the clock has a shaped-top door. The second item is a mahogany-veneered glazed cabinet top with astragal glazing bars, boxwood and ebony stringing inlay, and a single drawer below with a brass drop handle. The third item is a large dark-wood double-door bookcase with glazed panels and a moulded cornice. The final item is a printed wooden crate marked British Produce, Jersey, and Crown Brand.
Condition report:
The longcase clock case exhibits surface wear, scuffing, and minor scratches consistent with age. The central finial on the hood is missing, and there is minor splitting to the wood on the plinth base. The dial shows visible crazing and paint loss, particularly around the winding holes. The movement is untested, and weights and pendulum are not visible. The glazed cabinet top has one broken or missing glass pane and surface scuffing. The large bookcase appears in an unrestored state with significant surface wear and dust. The wooden crate shows typical age-related wear and staining.
