Lot 57: A Trio of Wedgwood Beatrix Potter The Classic Collection Ceramic Cereal Bowls
A trio of circular white earthenware cereal bowls by Wedgwood, from The Classic Collection featuring illustrations based on the original artwork of Beatrix Potter. The group includes two items in their original presentation boxes and one unboxed bowl. The first boxed bowl features an illustration of Peter Rabbit in his blue jacket squeezed under a garden fence. The second boxed bowl depicts Jemima Puddle-Duck by a fence. The unboxed Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle bowl features a central illustration of the character handing clothes to Lucy, with Peter Rabbit and Benjamin Bunny in the background. The rim is decorated with a black-lettered transcription from the story: All the way down the path little animals came out of the fern to meet them; the very first that they met were Peter Rabbit and Benjamin Bunny! And she gave them their nice clean clothes; The boxes are printed with the Wedgwood logo and copyright information for Frederick Warne & Co. dated 2010.
Condition report:
The two boxed items appear to be in good condition within their original packaging. The boxes show minor signs of shelf wear and have small numerical and price labels attached. The unboxed Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle bowl exhibits significant brown staining and surface residue on the interior well. No chips, cracks, or repairs are visible on any of the pieces.
