Lot 564: Moroccan Carved Hardwood and Brass Tray Table
A Moroccan style occasional table featuring a circular brass tray top and a carved hardwood base. The brass tray is decorated with concentric ring patterns and a raised border. The base comprises four legs with turned and square sections, the square sections featuring deeply carved geometric foliate patterns inset with star-shaped mother-of-pearl motifs. The legs are joined by an X-frame stretcher incorporating bobbin-turned mashrabiya lattice work panels and a central suspended finial. Several paper lot stickers are present on the legs.
Condition report:
The wooden frame exhibits general surface wear, scuffs, and minor chips consistent with age and use. There is visible finish loss and heavier wear to the turned feet. The brass tray top shows a darkened patina, tarnish, and numerous surface scratches. The mashrabiya lattice work appears to be largely intact.
