Lot 56: A Group of Four Contemporary Hand-Blown Art Glass Items
A group of four contemporary hand-blown art glass items comprising a stylised fish sculpture, a pair of matching vases, and a paperweight. The fish sculpture is executed in cobalt blue glass with internal vertical lime green stripes, featuring applied clear glass fins and a tail with a ribbed, textured surface. The pair of matching art glass vases are of squat, bulbous form, featuring a deep cobalt blue base with an all-over iridescent oil spot finish in shades of emerald green and navy. Each vase is finished with a wide, flat-ground and polished rim. The collection also includes a solid glass spherical paperweight containing a central flower-like inclusion in a deep burgundy hue, surrounded by a cluster of controlled air bubbles. The paperweight bears two handwritten adhesive labels, one orange label marked 56 and one white label marked 7.
Condition report:
The fish sculpture appears to be in good condition with no visible damage to the applied clear glass elements. The pair of vases are in good condition with no visible chips or cracks to the ground rims. The paperweight shows light surface scratching consistent with age and use.
