Start price: £2

Buyer's Premium:

A group of approximately twelve hardcover books including several specialist reference works focused on vintage and costume jewellery. Key titles include Understanding Jewellery by David Bennett and Daniela Mascetti published by the Antique Collectors Club, Fashion Jewellery 1925-1975 by Lillian Baker, Plastic Jewellery of the Twentieth Century by Lillian Baker, Rhinestone and Coloured Jewellery by Dolan published by Krause Publications, and a volume on Bakelite Jewellery. The collection also features specialist decorative arts titles such as English Slipware Dishes 1650-1850 by Ronald G. Cooper published by Alec Tiranti. General interest and biographical works included are King Alberts Book, The Queen Mother Her Life Story, Animal Life of the World, Gilbert Harding Question Book published by Benn, and Child of the North by Josephine Cox published by Headline. Also present is a monograph on the artist Isaac Levitan with Cyrillic text to the spine. The volumes are primarily bound in cloth or boards, with many retaining their original dust jackets.

Condition report:

The collection is in overall good used condition. Older volumes such as King Alberts Book and Animal Life of the World show significant shelf wear, including fading to the spines and rubbing at the extremities. Modern jewellery reference works generally retain their dust jackets with minor bumping to the corners and light sun-fading to the spines. The English Slipware Dishes volume shows some foxing and staining to the plain paper jacket. No significant internal damage or heavy staining is visible from the external inspection.
