Lot 52: An Assortment of Decorative and Domestic Ceramics including Denby Green Wheat and Hornsea Heirloom
An assortment of decorative and domestic ceramics comprising various mid-to-late 20th-century pieces. The collection includes a Denby Green Wheat pattern earthenware teapot featuring a cream body, celadon green handle and rim, and hand-painted floral and grain decoration. Also present is a Hornsea Heirloom pattern cylindrical jar with a brown geometric design, fitted with a wooden lid topped with a ceramic figurine of a dog. The lot further contains a white ovoid vase decorated with hand-painted floral sprays in purple, blue, and orange with a teal dashed border at the neck; a lidded jar with yellow and purple banded decoration and stylized floral motifs; a flared-rim vase with a mottled pink and cream textured glaze; and a sage green glazed circular pot with a domed lid. Additionally, the group includes a graduated stack of modern ceramic tableware with brown banded borders, topped with a white teacup featuring a floral sprig, and a large cylindrical cream-coloured ceramic planter. Multiple items are marked with rectangular lot stickers bearing the numeral 7.
Condition report:
The collection is in good used condition overall. There is minor surface wear and interior discolouration present, particularly to the larger cream-coloured planter, consistent with age and use. No significant chips, cracks, or visible repairs are evident from visual inspection.
