Lot 501: A Collection of Five Mid-Century Glazed Ceramic Poodle Figurines
A collection of five ceramic poodle figurines presented in various poses and glazes. The group comprises a standing poodle with a mottled brown and bronze-tone glaze; a standing poodle with a graduated grey-to-white satin and gloss glaze; a reclining poodle in a high-gloss black glaze; a seated poodle in a high-gloss black glaze; and a reclining poodle featuring a dark blue and black heavily textured spaghetti style glaze. The figures are modelled in naturalistic and stylised positions characteristic of mid-20th-century decorative animalier ceramics. No factory marks, model numbers, or decorator marks are visible. A small white rectangular adhesive label bearing the number 14 is attached to the body of the reclining black figure.
Length approximately 10cm to 20cm.
Condition report:
The figurines are currently stored loose within a cardboard box, which may result in minor surface abrasions. No major chips, cracks, or visible repairs are observed from the provided view. The delicate textured finish on the blue and black spaghetti poodle requires close inspection for potential losses to the ceramic loops.
