A collection of framed artworks comprising various prints and possible small paintings on board and paper. The subject matter is traditional, including landscapes, a village scene with a stream, a garden scene, and an interior scene with figures. One work is presented in a gilt-finished frame fitted with a brass-toned nameplate inscribed Sailing Ships John Scott 1802 – 1885. The frames are diverse in style, ranging from ornate gilt-finished mouldings with scrolling foliate patterns to dark-stained wood and black-finished frames with gold-toned detailing. The works are mounted with various paper and card borders.
Condition report:
The collection exhibits general age-related wear throughout. There is minor scuffing and small losses to the finishes of several frames. Light discolouration and minor foxing are visible on some of the paper mounts.
