An industrial workstation chair manufactured by Singer. The chair is constructed with a two-piece seat and backrest made of moulded plywood. The wooden components are attached to a heavy-duty metal frame. The seat is supported by a pivoting metal arm which connects to a substantial cast-iron base. The base features the embossed manufacturer name SINGER. Two modern inventory labels are adhered to the chair: a small orange sticker marked 417A and a white rectangular sticker marked 19 19.
Condition report:
The chair exhibits significant wear consistent with age and industrial use. The moulded plywood components show widespread finish loss, scratches, and abrasions. The metal arm and cast-iron base have extensive surface oxidation and paint loss. Mechanical joints are present and appear functional.
