Lot 413a: An Assortment of Decorative Ceramic and Wooden Cat Figurines
A collection of feline figurines in various media and decorative styles. The group includes two hand-carved wooden cats with dark stained accents on the ears, face, and tail; one is depicted in a tall upright seated pose and the other in a reclining position. The ceramic figurines consist of a seated cat with a blue mottled sponge glaze and crackle effect, a large reclining cat with floral chintz decoration on a white ground, and a small Siamese figure on a pedestal base with a blue scrolling border. There are also seated ceramic cats with painted tabby markings in grey, white, and yellow tones. Several items bear adhesive labels with the numbers 14 and 413A.
Condition report:
The items are in good overall condition. The ceramic pieces are free from visible chips or cracks, although the large floral reclining cat shows surface crazing throughout the glaze. The wooden carvings exhibit minor surface wear and natural grain patterns consistent with age.
