Lot 412: Mid-20th Century Turned Hardwood Standard Lamp
A traditional floor lamp, also known as a standard lamp, constructed from stained and polished hardwood. The design features a decoratively turned central column incorporating multiple bulbous, tapered, and ring-turned sections. It stands on a substantial, weighted circular base with tiered concentric moulding. The lamp is fitted with a standard bayonet-style (B22) bulb holder and includes a black plastic flex terminating in a modern UK 3-pin plug. A small illegible label is present on the upper stem. The lamp is sold without a shade.
Height: approximately 150cm – 160cm.
Condition report:
The wooden surfaces exhibit signs of age and use, including various minor scuffs, surface scratches, and small nicks, particularly around the perimeter of the base. There is some dust accumulation in the crevices of the decorative turning. The electrical wiring appears intact but has not been professionally tested for safety; it must be PAT tested by a qualified electrician before use. Shade is missing.
