Lot 405: Slik Uni-Walker Professional Video Tripod with Geared Centre Column
A professional-grade vintage video tripod manufactured in Japan by Slik. This Uni-Walker model is constructed with three-section telescopic legs in black anodised aluminium, featuring twist-lock mechanisms for extension. The tripod includes a geared centre column for precision height adjustment and a three-way fluid-effect pan and tilt head with independent locking knobs. The equipment bears several maker’s marks, including a large gold-tone Slik label and a Uni-Walker Video Tripod label on the legs. The head assembly is marked with the Slik brand name and is stamped Made in Japan. A small orange adhesive sticker with the handwritten digits 405 is adhered to the side of the head.
Condition report:
The tripod shows significant signs of age and heavy use. Surface dust and grime are present throughout. There is notable surface oxidation and minor corrosion on the cast metal leg hinges and mounting junctions. The black anodised finish on the legs has numerous scuffs, scratches, and areas of paint loss. The head\'s mounting plate is heavily worn with significant finish loss. While all knobs and locks are present, the internal mechanical smoothness of the fluid head and geared column has not been tested. Rubber feet and components show signs of aging.
