Lot 384: A Collection of Vintage Palitoy Action Man Figures, Scorpion Tank and Accessories
This lot comprises a collection of vintage Palitoy Action Man military-themed toys and accessories from the 1960s and 1970s. The primary item is a large-scale molded plastic Scorpion Tank finished in green with a rotating turret featuring two circular hatches and a main gun. The turret is decorated with British military roundel decals. Included is an assortment of articulated 12-inch action figures, notably a pilot in a red fabric flight suit with a parachute harness and flight helmet. The collection features a machine gun emplacement accessory set, which remains attached to its original cardboard inner display card, comprising a plastic machine gun on a scenic base with artificial foliage, a plastic shovel, and six miniature burlap sandbags. Further accessories include a dark green molded plastic inflatable-style dinghy containing a plastic rifle with a fabric strap, and a printed cardboard German checkpoint sentry box with a Halt barrier and eagle emblem. Also present is a blue plastic compartmentalised case containing a selection of small-scale die-cast metal toy vehicles by various manufacturers. Condition report:
The items are in played-with vintage condition throughout. The Scorpion Tank shows surface dust and significant orange-brown overspray markings on one side of the hull. Figures exhibit typical play wear, including some loose joints and missing items of clothing. The machine gun emplacement set is missing its outer box lid. The cardboard checkpoint accessory shows wear to the edges and corners. All items display signs of long-term storage and surface dust. Completeness of all components and sets cannot be guaranteed.
