Lot 379: A Collection of Vintage Toys and Games including a Wheel of Fortune Mechanical Game and Die-cast Vehicles
An assortment of mid-20th-century toys and games. The lot includes a handheld Wheel of Fortune mechanical pinball-style game constructed from plastic with a clear cover, featuring a spring-loaded ball launcher and a central rotating prize wheel with a printed cardboard interior. The wheel contains segments for various scoring increments and penalties. Also included is a group of die-cast and plastic vehicles comprising a blue and white Volkswagen van, a blue camouflage jet fighter with roundel markings, a white and blue helicopter marked 66 on the fuselage, and a green military vehicle with a crane or launcher mechanism. Further vehicles include a red truck cab with a white and red articulated trailer, a silver hopper trailer, a small white police car, a blue car with racing number 8, and a green aircraft or submarine model. Boxed goods and ephemera include a Know Your Navy card game, a coin collector’s folder for pennies, and two red plastic storage cases. A clear plastic bag containing a quantity of glass marbles of various colours and sizes is also present.
Condition report:
All items are in play-worn condition. The die-cast vehicles show significant paint loss, chipping, and surface oxidation. The plastic cover of the Wheel of Fortune game exhibits numerous surface scratches and scuffs. The jet fighter shows wear to the applied decals. The Know Your Navy box displays edge wear and light creasing. Marbles and other components are loose in the container and sold as-is.
