Lot 32: Three Pieces of Assorted British Decorative Ceramics including Ashworth Brothers Pekin Pattern Bowl
A lot comprising three pieces of assorted British decorative ceramics. The group features an Ashworth Brothers ironstone bowl in the Pekin pattern, decorated in a chinoiserie style with dark blue and black geometric fretwork panels and polychrome floral sprays in orange and green, finished with a gilded rim. Also included is a large oval earthenware platter with a vibrant yellow-glazed border and green band, containing a central brown transfer-printed landscape scene of a manor house within a raised, gilded beaded border on a cream ground. The final item is a shaped oval dish with twin scroll handles and a scalloped rim, decorated with floral sprays in pink, yellow, and blue on a pale cream ground.
Condition report:
The large platter exhibits visible crazing throughout the central cream-glazed well, consistent with earthenware of this age. The Ashworth bowl and the handled floral dish are in good condition with minor rubbing to the gilding and surface wear. No chips, cracks, or repairs were observed.
