Lot 312: Amedeo Modigliani, A Pair of Prints: 'The Jewess' and 'Portrait in Profile' (Signed)
A pair of framed prints on paper by Amedeo Modigliani. The first artwork depicts a woman wearing a black turban in a frontal pose, titled ‘The Jewess’. The second artwork shows a female figure in profile with a characteristically elongated neck and head bowed. Both pieces are executed in a Modernist style featuring simplified facial features and a muted colour palette of ochre, cream, and grey. The turban portrait is signed vertically modigliani in the upper left corner. The prints are mounted in matching black frames with a thin gold-effect inner slip, set behind glass. Both frames carry orange auction lot stickers numbered 312 and white stickers numbered 7.
Condition report:
Both prints appear to be in good overall condition. There is some minor uniform toning to the paper supports visible behind the glass. The frames show light handling wear and minor superficial scuffing.
