Lot 285: A Collection of Military and Civilian Headwear Including a Royal Navy Petty Officers Cap and Slouch Hat
This lot comprises an assortment of headwear including military and civilian examples. The collection features a Royal Navy Petty Officer’s peaked cap with a removable white cotton cover, a black mohair band, and a black patent leather peak. It is fitted with a bullion and metal cap badge depicting a silver-toned fouled anchor within a gold-toned laurel wreath, surmounted by a Tudor crown. Also included is a military-style slouch hat in olive drab green felt, featuring a wide brim and a brown leather external band. The civilian items include a black felt bowler hat with a rounded crown and narrow curled brim, and a woven straw sun hat with a brown grosgrain ribbon band. A secondary black peaked cap with a gold-toned chin cord is partially visible beneath the other items.
