Live auction will start in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £2

Buyer's Premium:

This collection comprises several volumes focused on the topography, history, and regional dialects of Northern England. The group includes Todmorden Album: People Places and Events by Roger Birch, which is a hardcover volume featuring photographic illustrations documenting local life and events. Also present is a decorative clothbound edition titled Lancashire Stories, featuring black printed illustrations and titles to the front board. A notable inclusion is the regional dialect booklet titled Oops An’ Doons, Sayin’s An’ Doin’s o’ Timothy Goorkrodger, printed for the author by R. M. Petterson in Knaresborough; this softcover work includes references to various Yorkshire towns and a copious glossary. Other titles identified within the lot include Holiday Lancashire by Sydney Moorhouse, published by Robert Hale, and a volume from the spine marked That Lass o’ Lowrie’s. The collection encompasses a variety of binding styles including decorative cloth, paper wraps, and modern photographic boards.

Condition report:

The items range from fair to good condition. Several of the older clothbound volumes exhibit typical shelf wear, including bumped corners, rubbing to the extremities, and some fading or tanning to the spines. The dialect booklet shows light foxing, minor creasing, and fading to the edges of the green paper covers. The Todmorden Album appears in good condition with only minor surface scuffing to the boards. Interior pages across the collection show age-appropriate toning but remain generally clean and legible.
