Lot 232: A 19th Century English Gothic Revival Brass Fusee Skeleton Clock
A 19th-century English Gothic Revival brass skeleton clock featuring a single-train fusee movement with an anchor escapement. The movement is constructed with open scrolling brass plates supported by four turned pillars. The assembly includes a skeletonised chapter ring with black Roman numerals and is mounted on an ornate, dark-patinated cast-metal base. The base is decorated with high-relief foliate and scrollwork patterns and rests on four integral feet. The clock is protected by a tall glass dome.
Height approx. 35 cm.
Condition report:
The glass dome is intact with no visible cracks or significant chips. The brass movement exhibits surface oxidation and dust throughout. The hour hand is present, but the minute hand is missing from the dial. The pendulum is currently detached and resting on the base. The clock is offered in untested condition and will require professional servicing and restoration.
