Lot 230: A Collection of Antique and Vintage Jewellery Presentation Cases and Boxes
An assortment of various vintage jewellery and presentation boxes in a range of shapes, sizes, and materials. The group includes a large blue fabric-covered rectangular case with adhesive residue to the lid, a small blue velvet box with rounded corners, and a small black square box with gold-line detailing. The collection also features several elongated rectangular cases in black, red, and burgundy leatherette and card finishes. One brown rectangular card box lid is printed with the text: J. H. PARKINSON / DENTIST BY APPT. / 54, MOSLEY STREET / MANCHESTER. The boxes exhibit various construction methods including hinged lids and lift-off lids. A large upright black textured case is situated at the rear of the group.
Condition report:
The collection shows varying degrees of age-related wear. Surface scuffing and edge wear are visible across most items. The printed brown box lid displays surface loss and significant rubbing to the text. The large blue case has visible adhesive residue and dust accumulation. The cases show general wear, including some minor structural weakening to hinges and surface abrasions consistent with age and use.
