Lot 229: A Trio of Vintage Men's Single-Breasted Wool Tweed Sport Coats
This lot comprises three men’s single-breasted sport coats, characteristic of late 20th-century British country tailoring. The first jacket is crafted from a heavyweight wool tweed in a multi-coloured check pattern of navy blue, burgundy, and tan. It features notched lapels, a two-button front, four-button cuffs with horn-effect buttons, and a burgundy synthetic lining. The second jacket is made from dark olive green Donegal-style flecked wool tweed featuring multi-coloured neps in red, blue, and yellow. It is distinguished by a tan leather reinforcement patch stitched around the lapel buttonhole and a charcoal grey lining. The third jacket is a classic brown and tan wool herringbone tweed with notched lapels, flap waist pockets, and a mauve synthetic lining. No manufacturer labels are visible on the garments, although a garment bag partially marked BLA is present in the background of the images.
Condition report:
All three coats appear to be in good vintage condition. There is no visible evidence of moth damage, thinning of the wool, or staining. The internal linings are intact with only minor creasing from storage. Buttons and the leather lapel detail remain well-preserved.
